Tidbits of Experience and Such
- My pride and joy is a Pinterest account for Hipcycle that I developed back in the day when there were no Pinterest experts. Seriously. I managed it up until last fall. Once the initial work was done, there really was not a lot of upkeep.
- My other pride and joy is the content on Hipcycle's ecommerce website. I was so blessed to be involved with the company before it launched (and after). From the FAQ to product descriptions and hunting down awesome upcyclers, that was one fantastic gig. I pretty much did whatever the Chief Hipcycler threw at me, and it was so much fun!
- My real-world work experience is primarily in social work, early childhood education, and parenting education. Behavior is my thing.
- My degree is in Psychology with minors in English and Religious Studies. I did some post-grad work and still plan to obtain a doctoral degree despite the current obstacles.
- Editing is a compulsion. Professional experience: check.
- Writing comes naturally. One CEO of my favorite social service agency referred to me as her "perfect little court report writer." I had to go to court and case conferences at least 3 times a week, so I wrote a lot of reports.
- There are thousands (really!) of random articles floating around online that I've written- mostly ghostwritten- but some are attributed such as this guest blog post on the Earth Day Network.
I Would Love to...
- Manage your Pinterest account. You will not find anyone more thrilled to do so that actually has experience in utilizing it for a company or blog.
- Edit anything. You know that friend that can't read the local paper because they can't deal with all the typos and grammatical mistakes? That's me. (I'm also allergic to newspaper, so that helps with the anxiety attacks.) Ironically enough, I don't edit my posts on this blog. I am a hypocrite.
- Write for you. Granted, I've written (SEO and non-SEO) about everything from solar panels in Great Britain to themed birthday party ideas, but I do have some favorite topics:
- Tutorials: Upcycling tutorials are my favorite (check out the Hipcycle blog), but I'm open to suggestions. I'm pretty crafty.
- Medical: In case you haven't already figured out, I've got a lot going on in my body. As a result, I know way more than I ever would want to about a lot of illnesses, but am happy to learn more!
- Natural living: Since I'm allergic to everything, I pretty much have to make everything myself or find alternative options. What I'm finding is that the alternative is almost better, though!
- Parenting: Between teaching severely disturbed preschoolers, foster parents, and biological parents, there all sorts of practical knowledge floating around up here.
- Other Stuff. I love new challenges, so throw them at me! I do, however, have a good grasp on my limits. If it's over my head, I'll gladly recommend someone else.
I Have Integrity. I will NOT...
- Plagiarize.
- Write a school report or complete your homework. Do it yourself.
- Be involved in any endeavor that is not 100% legal and honorable.
- Participate in any black hat or otherwise shady hi-jinks.
Can You Afford Me?
- Maybe, maybe not. I'm obviously honest to a fault, but I won't work for slave labor costs. Granted, the content mills are cheaper, but you get what you pay for in this case.
- Hourly or by project? I'm open to negotiation. Plus, I LOVE to barter and trade!
- Drop me a line on Facebook or via e-mail and we'll chat!
